Are you passionate about supporting non-profits and experienced in managing accessible financial systems? AEBC is seeking a skilled Part-Time Bookkeeper to help us enhance financial transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in our mission to advocate for Canadians who are blind, deafblind, and partially sighted.
What You’ll Do:
Document, track, and reconcile all financial transactions for AEBC’s national office and local chapters, (Currently AEBC uses QuickBooks.)
Maintain records of donor contributions, handle tax receipts, and process bank transactions.
Prepare accessible financial reports, including monthly balance sheets, income statements, and project-level reports.
Support annual audits, compliance filings, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Collaborate with our National Treasurer and ensure reports are accessible, screen reader-friendly, and easy to navigate.
What You Bring:
Proven experience in bookkeeping for non-profits, ideally with registered charities.
Proficiency in creating accessible spreadsheets and financial reports for diverse audiences.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, especially in working with screen readers.
Strong organizational skills and commitment to AEBC’s mission.
Position Details:
Remote role, part-time (up to 15 hours per month) at $50/hour.
Flexible scheduling and work-from-home.
Starting December 2024.
